Unifi CEO re-elected as NCTO chairman

William Jasper, CEO of yarns producer Unifi, has been elected to serve a second term as chairman of the National Council of Textile Organizations’ (NCTO). The decision was announced at the ninth annual meeting held at the Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill in Washington DC last week.

Mr Jasper was first named chairman of Unifi’s Board in February 2011, and has served as Unifi’s CEO since September 2007.

Prior to his role as chairman, he served as president and CEO, vice president of sales and general manager of the company’s polyester segment.

Prior to joining Unifi, Mr Jasper was director of Invista’s Dacron polyester filament business. Before working at Invista, he held various management positions in operations, technology, sales and business at DuPont.

James Self III, president and COO of Greenwood Mills, was elected to a second term as vice chairman of NCTO.

The National Council of Textile Organizations is the national trade association representing the entire spectrum of the textile sector in the US.
