Outdoor fabrics for 2014 unveiled at Schoeller
Nature-inspired Schoeller technologies including its energear, corkshell and ecorepel innovations will play an important part in its new ranges for summer 2014.
The company’s energear technology is now available in light-coloured fabrics for the first time. Based on the capacity of certain minerals to reflect long-wave rays, it ensures that far infrared rays (FIR) radiated by the body is reflected back to it, offering a number of performance benefits. Among other options, it is available on fine, smooth fabrics in delicate mint green with additional coldblack heat and UV protection, and 3XDRY feelgood technology.
The company’s new corkshell technology is available as a thin schoeller-WB-400 fabric in lime green with a vibrant blue back, or as a reversible double-face in a slate/chilli colour combination. The corkshell range offers higher heat insulation than conventional soft-shells while also providing good breathability and comfort.
Another ecological innovation featured in the range is ecorepel, a fluorocarbon-free finishing technology for natural water repellence. It is available as a schoeller-WB-400 fabric in meadow green with white fleece backing or a sturdy, abrasion-resistant fabric in golden brown or sky blue.
Schoeller’s new USP (ultralight soft protection) technology comes in vibrant green, silver-grey or petrol for summer 2014. The crosswise-elastic schoeller-styltec, which has a smooth, technical appearance, provides protection from the rain as a light spring or autumn jacket. It is also windproof and breathable.
The brand’s ceraspace technology offers abrasion and heat proofing in olive green or black. The three-dimensional ceraspace coating can be used as a trim or even for a full garment.
