OutDoor Award for new Haglöfs jacket

Swedish outdoor brand Haglöfs is among the winners of the 2012 OutDoor Awards in the apparel category for its new Gram Comp Pull jacket.

The jacket will come onto the market during spring-summer 2013 and was on public show for the first time during the 2012 OutDoor exhibition in Friedrichshafen, Germany in mid-July.

According to Haglöfs, the Gram Comp Pull is designed “with ruthless minimalism”. Every detail has a function and is selected to “take away weight and focus on functionality”. The Gram Comp Pullover is the lightest hooded Gore-Tex Active shell ever made, the company claims, and weighs under 200 grammes in men’s medium size.

“The simplest things can sometimes be the hardest to create,” said strategic design manager Fredrik Lundberg in reaction to the news. “We combined all our experience and knowledge to engineer a jacket from just two pieces of material for the main body, which saves weight and adds breathability. Lowest possible weight combined with pure function was our goal.”
