The Outdoor Industries Association (OIA) has launched a campaign to get the British public fitter and healthier and to educate them about the benefits of getting active in the outdoors.

Britain on Foot (BoF) will be revealed to an audience of outdoor industry leaders, politicians and media at an event at Westminster on October 24, attended by the British Mountaineering Council and the Mountaineering All Party Parliamentary Group.

OIA chief executive Andrew Denton met with the government’s campaign team to discuss the potential of BoF and other projects that can unite and promote the themes of the outdoors and adventure.

“This is a pivotal time for the UK outdoor industries," he said. “We have made it on to the national political stage, we have gathered representatives from all parts of the sector under one banner, and now we have a campaign that everyone can wholeheartedly support.”
