Designers favour sportswear at Paris Fashion Week

It was British designer Stella McCartney’s overarching theme, with layered silk organza dresses and slouchy pants accessorised with functional utility bags with long straps.
Hussein Chalayan opted for an elegant take on the sportswear look for his spring/summer 2013 collection, including chiffon dresses and culottes with simple lines and boxy shapes.
Fashion house Chloe’s interpretation included loose-fitting tops over shorts and plain knee skirts, using a muted colour palette.
Japanese designer Junya Watanabe showed a collection, in collaboration with sportswear brand Puma, where nylon and polyester were treated like silk and satin, with mesh and bright colours, in a fun take on athletic apparel.
Paris Fashion Week concludes on October 3.
