Swiss grant for sustainable fashion in Ghana

Ghana’s ministry of trade and industry has received a $ 3.5 million grant from the Swiss government to support the progress of young Ghanaian entrepreneurs in the fashion and textile industry who want to make an impression on the international market.

The Swiss ambassador to Ghana, Andrea Semadeni, said on announcing the award that the money would go towards supporing a new project in the African country called the Ethical Fashion Initiative, which aims to make clothes sustainably and to spread the benefits of the manufacturing activity amongst disadvantaged people.
