Icebreaker founder says merino keeps city people in touch with nature

In a recent interview for the Australian Business Review, Mr Moon said: “In a world that is becoming increasingly unreal, the desire for what is real goes up. More people are living in cities and yearn for that connection to nature. And that is the spirit of the company, encouraging people to reconnect with nature.”
Icebreaker sources the merino wool fibre for its collections from 188 wool-growers in New Zealand’s Southern Alps. Mr Moon says there is “a raft of opportunities with merino wool” and said his company was committed to continuing its quest for innovation to be able to keep finding new ranges of apparel that can be made from merino, previously only used in luxury suits.
