Amicor to put Sanitized into its fibres

02/01/2013
Fibre manufacturer Thai Acrylic Fibre and Swiss antimicrobial technology provider Sanitized have signed a co-branding agreement and licensing program for Amicor fibres.

First developed by UK company Courtalds at the end of the 1990s, Amicor is now produced by Thai Acrylic Fibre. The new alliance covers the co-branding of future product developments using Amicor fibres and yarns and the Sanitized hygiene function.

Amicor is designed to incorporate the functional antimicrobial additive into the core of the fibre rather than acting as a surface coating. The additive is added to the fibre polymer before it is spun.

Applications of Amicor incorporating Sanitized will include sportswear, baselayer clothing, workwear for the healthcare sector and socks.
