Sorona pioneer wins green chemistry award

The American Chemical Society (ACS) is to honour DuPont chemist Hari Sunkara in its 2013 National Awards programme.

Dr Sunkara, originally from India, will receive the award for Affordable Green Chemistry for his work on DuPont’s Sorona polymer, which is made from resources that are 37% renewable.

He will be presented with the award at a ceremony and banquet in New Orleans in April.
