A month ahead of schedule, the trial production for an additional indigo line at the manufacturing hub in Nanjing, China, run by textile coloration specialist DyStar successfully started on April 1.

The company has said that it needs the new line because demand for its Indigo Vat 40% Solution is growing. It said the new line employs latest technology and a number of process improvements from existing operations in Nanjing as well as from DyStar’s headquarters in Ludwigshafen, Germany.

It intends to increase production in Nanjing gradually until the designed capacity of 12,000 tonnes per year for the second indigo line is reached.
