The North Face kicks off healthy living campaign

Outdoor brand The North Face is sponsoring a campaign which covers a quarter of the US population and encourages participation in outside activities.

The 2013 Explore Your Parks programme features state parks in 12 states plus the Chicago Park District and the company has committed to expanding the programme every year.

It features Camping 101, an overnight camping experience focusing on campsite set-up, outdoor cooking and nature lessons. Some locations offering fishing, hiking and canoeing.

“Research shows that only half of Americans currently participate in outdoor activities,” said Ann Krcik, director of outdoor exploration for The North Face. “With Explore Our Parks and family involvement we are reaching kids at an early age. If youth experiences outdoor activities in a positive way, it’s possible to set long-term trends for an overall healthier life.”
