Outdoor Retailer to focus on fly fishing

Outdoor Retailer (OR) Summer Market is adding fly fishing-focused exhibit areas, venues and programmes for the upcoming show, including a large casting pond and the opportunity to visit a trout stream as interest in the segment increases.

The open air demo will provide retailers with fly fishing, geocaching, paddlesports and trail running products for testing in an outdoor setting. The new fly fishing lounge will feature the latest products and technology, as well as interactive displays. Organisers say more than 8,000 retailers and 3,000 stores will gain knowledge and create partnerships across market segments.

"Fly fishing is a sport that can be done during a hiking or camping trip, so OR is a logical market for our brand," said Kara Armano of fly fishing company Redington. "Our product line opens the doors to those with an active lifestyle who prefer quality, versatile pieces that can be used not only for fly fishing but getting outdoors in general."

OR Summer Market is being held in Salt Lake City, US, from July 31 to August 3.
