Advansa announces organic cotton development with Egyptian partner

European polyester fibre, filament and specialties supplier Advansa has announced a new development for ThermoCool eco2, a version of its ThermoCool thermoregulation fibre. ThermoCool offers moisture management and thermo buffering properties. In addition, the eco2 version is based on post-consumer PET bottles, recycled in Germany into polyester fibre.

Now Advansa has announced a joint development with an Egyptian partner, Sekem, to make available a new combination of ThermoCool eco2 and organic cotton.

Applications will include performance underwear, aided by the high levels of fibre elasticity the companies have said the new combination will have. Underwear featuring 50% ThermoCool and 50% organic cotton will help to thermo-regulate the wearer’s body temperature to prevent the body from overheating, aiding comfort, the companies said.
