D3O launches new range of footwear cushioning materials

UK-based smart materials specialist D3O has developed a new range of cushioning materials for footwear applications including athletic, industrial and military markets.

The company, which focuses on impact protection solutions, has said its new products are a response to increased customer demand for low-density, durable, shock-absorbing materials for footwear.

Material development manager, Phil Sheriff, said at the time of the announcement: “Feedback from wearer trials has been extremely positive. We have been able to bring our expertise in polymer engineering and enhanced chemistry to the footwear industry.”
