Higher exhibitor numbers for next Performance Days

08/10/2013

The organisers of Performance Days have revealed that 104 exhibitors will attend the upcoming edition of the trade fair, which will take place in Munich from November 19-21. As a result of this 14% increase compared with last year’s event, Hall 5 of the MTC exhibition centre will be opened for the first time and an extended Performance Forum will be available to visitors.

Exhibitors will travel to the show from 22 countries, a rise of approximately 33% compared with last year’s fair.  As well as exhibitors from Europe, many companies will travel from New Zealand, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, China, the US and other nations.

New exhibitors will include: BeBe Knit (Taiwan), Bemis and Climashield (US), Designer Textiles International (New Zealand), Fairwear Foundation (Netherlands), Silkytex (South Korea), LTP Garment (Lithuania) and NFK Echomark (Japan).

Environmental awareness is the theme for the show this time round. According to organisers, 42% of exhibitors will offer bluesign-certified materials and 65% claim to produce sustainable products.

In line with this, CO2 emissions generated by the event will be measured by ClimatePartner and the results will be announced during a presentation on November 19. Companies can then seek advice from ClimatePartner to compensate for their ‘CO2 debt’ by participating in various partner projects. Performance Days will compensate through a climate protection project that supports a textile manufacturing plant in India.
