Bergans employs new US representative
Outdoor company Bergans USA has hired Dan Dixson to represent the brand in Northern California and Northern Nevada.
Established in Longmont, Colorado, as a subsidiary of Bergans of Norway in January 2012, the company is expanding its sales force to support the brand’s North American growth plans. Mr Dixson is the second representative to be added this year after Dan Ducey was hired in July to cover the southwest.
"The northern California-Nevada region is a very important ski and outdoor market for us," said Keith Patterson, Bergans USA's vice-president of sales and marketing. "Having someone like Dan on the ground in the territory will allow us to better serve our existing and future dealer base with the highest level of customer service and support."
Mr Dixson has represented a range of brands including Head Tyrolia Wintersports, Fischer Sports USA, Karbon, POC, Swix and Uvex. He also served as general manager of Sierra Mountaineer.
"Bergans’ 100-plus years of technical innovation and quality in skiing, polar exploration and backpacking products was a big attraction to me for the brand,” he said. “I'm looking forward to representing Bergans to my existing retailers and new ones as well."
Bergans was established in 1908, when Ole Ferdinand Bergan invented the first anatomical backpack. It produces a wide range of backpacks, functional outdoor clothing, footwear and tents. Around 90 development, research, design and sales staff are based at its Hokksund headquarters.
