KooGa opens new Fiji unit
Australian sportswear firm KooGa has officially opened a plant in Fiji that it has been working on for the last 12 months.
Initially expected to open in October 2012, the manufacturing centre can be found in Lautoka, Fiji’s second-largest city and now employs around 120 local people.
With manufacturing prices rising in Australia, it is hoped the initial $1.5 million outlay will quickly be recouped.
KooGa Australia manufactures sportswear, specialising in rugby apparel and boots. It provides kit for many international teams including Fiji Rugby, the Qantas Wallabies, the Western Bulldogs, Melbourne Storm, the Queensland Reds, the ACT Brumbies, the Richmond Tigers, the Western Force and the National Rugby League.
