Kombat distances itself from former owners

Australia-based custom teamwear manufacturer Kombat has been saved from administration by Community Wearhouse.

A new management team has been installed, which it said will give customers a “much better service and a vastly improved delivery time frame”.

The delivery time frame appears to have been one of the problems, with customers complaining of delayed orders and a lack of communication from staff – so much so that they launched a Facebook page about it.

Kombat’s founder, Paul Franklin, who sold the business in 2007, took to the page to defend the business: “I started and owned Kombat for 18 years and I sold it as a healthy, growing business.”

He added that the new owners should be given a chance: “Give these people a go. I believe they are trying to make a decent go of what was once the largest and best teamwear brand in the country.”

The new CEO, Ricky Jackson, also weighed in: “Kombat has no affiliation in any way with the former owners,” he said.
