Jersey Lomellina launches new Renew fabric
Warp-knit fabric manufacturer Jersey Lomellina has added a new fabric to its JL Renew line, made using 100% recycled polyamide derived from post-consumer materials including fishing nets, rigid tulle, carpet fluff and other ‘waste’ materials. These materials have been saved from landfill and ‘repolymerised’ using a special chemical process before being turned into high-tech yarn.
Renew Prime is designed to be used in apparel for top athletes including swimmers, runners, cyclists and skiers. It is said to offer excellent freedom of movement, high performance and exceptional comfort.
Renew Prime offers muscular compression, reducing vibration and supporting the muscles during sport activities. Featuring Xtra Life Lycra, it is said to be ten times more resistant to sweat, sun cream, oil and chlorine than standard fabrics, retaining its stretch fit after many washes and prolonged use.
The fabric also offers breathability, lightness, fast-drying properties, UV protection (UPF 50+), and pilling and abrasion resistance.
Italy-based Jersey Lomellina will present its JL Renew range at the upcoming Performance Days trade fair in Munich from November 19-21.
