World Cup qualifiers opt for new adizero shirts

12/11/2013
Two further national football teams have launched new shirts made using new adizero ultra-light polyester material from adidas. This follows an announcement in mid-October that Mexico’s national team would wear adizero shirts. However, Mexico has still to qualify for the FIFA World Cup in Brazil in 2014 and faces two play-off matches in November against New Zealand.

Two teams that have already qualified, Colombia and Japan, feature in the new announcement.

Adidas has said that shirts made from adizero polyester will weigh only 100 grammes each, a weight-saving of up to 40% on previous kit.
