Nylstar to expand production capacity

Polyamide 6.6 producer Nylstar has announced that it will invest EUR 1.2 million in its production facilities in Blanes, near Barcelona, increasing capacity to 17,000 tonnes a year, a jump of more than 13%,

The investment comprises the installation in January 2014 of 21 Barmag winding machines that Nylstar says will increase productivity and will reduce waste considerably. This investment will also allow it to increase the variety of its product range and deliver “even more value-added products”. The new equipment will begin operating immediately.

“This investment is a direct consequence of the growing demand for fine-count yarns that has been reflected in our sales recently,” said Zigor Kortazar, Nylstar’s chief executive, at the time of the announcement.
