Chemicals group Archroma, which owns the former textile businesses of Clariant, has named Stephan Sielaff as chief operating officer, effective February 2014.

Based in Reinach, Switzerland, Mr Sielaff will oversee the business' global production, manufacturing and integrated supply chain activities.

“Archroma has a tradition of materials excellence and expertise, and a vibrant future,” said Mr Sielaff. “I’m passionate about the value-added for our internal and external customer through a world-class supply chain.”

Mr Sielaff spent eight years with flavours and fragrance produce Symrise, most recently as the senior vice-president of global operations of the flavour and nutrition business. He has also held  roles in supply chain, innovation and engineering, as well as at consumer good company Unilever.

Archroma, the company forged from SK Capital Partners LP’s purchase of three Clariant units, said this month it aims to double sales to about $3 billion and lead consolidation in paper and textile chemical markets.
