Lealea Enterprise, a Taiwan-based polyester yarn producer, has announced it will build a $100 million nylon 6,6 factory in Fangyuan, which will double its annual revenues to $67 million.

“We are in talks with US-based Invista to purchase the technical knowhow, and we expect to finalise the deal by the first quarter of 2014,” said Lealea chairman James Kuo.

Monthly capacity at the new factory, due to be completed in 2016, is expected to reach 2,400 tonnes of nylon 6,6 chips and 1,200 tonnes of filament yarns.

“We will be the first company in Taiwan to make nylon 6,6 chips,” said Mr Kuo.
