Columbia unveils Olympic ski uniforms

US sportswear brand Columbia has unveiled its Olympic uniforms for the US, Canada and Russia freestyle teams which it says “represent some of the most innovative, high-performance pieces that Columbia has ever produced”.

Designed in collaboration with the athletes, the apparel includes several new technologies including patent-pending LightRail zippers, which are ‘extra waterproof’; and ‘snow camo’ – a camouflage technique designed to mask movement on the slopes; as well as removable pockets, interchangeable badges and reverse snow skirts. The jackets also feature the company's Omniheat reflective technology for warmth.

“We can apply the athletes' feedback to our broader line of outerwear,” said the company.

The Winter Olympics will take place in Sochi, Russia, from February 7 to 23.
