Manchester United on lookout for new kit deal

English football champions Manchester United are in talks with several sportswear companies, including existing supplier Nike, about replacing their current contract that expires next year.

The club, owned by the American Glazer family, said it will increase spending on new players to boost the team's chances of winning the trophies that have been key to their financial success.

Despite the poor form – they are seventh in the Premier League – they are forecasting revenues of between $420 million $430 million for this season, up from $363 million last season, due to improved TV contracts and new sponsorship deals.

This season rivals Manchester City have played in a Nike-designed away kit with each being made from up to 13 recycled plastic water bottles.
