Partners to make Emana smart yarn for US and Canada

North Carolina-based polyester fibre manufacturer Premiere Fibers Inc has announced a new agreement with Brazilian partner Rhodia Fibras to add Rhodia’s Emana PA 6.6 smart yarn to its product offering.

Emana incorporates a patented additive to offer thermo-regulation functionality and improved blood-circulation when in contact with the skin for more than six hours. The partners plan to launch Emana yarn in the US and Canada.

Emana features bioactive crystals that are embedded in the yarn to provide cosmetic and performance benefits, including, manufacturers claim, the capability to improve performance during exercise and reduce muscle fatigue, enhance thermoregulation, and reduce the appearance of cellulite and give the skin a youthful, smooth appearance.
