Lenzing’s Tencel passes eco review

Lenzing’s Tencel fibres can now be stamped with the Ecocert logo, following examination by the certification institute which deemed the Austrian company to have ‘environmentally compatible’ production processes and high social standards in manufacturing. 

Certification involved an assessment of how the fibres are produced, including raw materials and auxiliary materials, wastewater generated and air emissions.

Lenzing said the French body’s new certification, called the Ecological & Recycled Textile Standard (ERTS), will helps its customers to stand out from their competitors.
