Vietnam National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) has agreed a loan package with the Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam (BIDV) for $600 million. Vinatex has said it will use the money to fund improvements in the country’s textile sector between now and 2016.

Specifically, the organisation said, money will go towards new projects in developing fibres, including new cotton farms, as well as textiles and finished garments.

Wastewater treatment plants and new textile machinery will also be spending targets.
