Indian group to set up new cotton mill in Ethiopia

Reports from India say textile group SVP has started work on a new cotton mill project in Ethiopia.

Located in Kombolcha in the north of the African country, close to the cotton growing regions of Metemma and Humera, SVP said the new mill would be up and running in 2015. It will have the capacity to produce 280 tonnes of cotton yarn per day and will create 13,000 new jobs in the area.
