Fresh approach for Keen

Outdoor brand Keen has appointed a new president tasked with “pulling initiatives together” as the brand enters its second decade.

Its new strategy has involved product innovations, adding categories such as Utility [workwear], fresh approaches to research and establishing its own manufacturing to control the supply chain.

Steve Meineke has spent years in the activewear industry, most recently as CEO of cycling brand Accell North America but also president of Raleigh America. He has also held senior positions at ski brands Salomon and Nordica USA.

“We’ve built a solid foundation for Keen as we enter our second decade and we need the right leader to pull all of our initiatives together and drive the business forward,” said Ron Hill, vice-president of product merchandising and marketing at Keen.

“Steve has proven success in diverse businesses with teams around the world and comes to Keen with a brand-building skill set that we really can capitalise on.”
