French and Japanese textile bodies formalise co-operation agreement

11/06/2014
Details have emerged of a formal memorandum of co-operation for textiles that France and Japan signed in May.

Two French textile innovation clusters, Up-Tex and Techtera, have had what they call “a good steady relationship” with counterparts in Japan for six years now. Japanese bodies involved include the Japan Chemical Fibre Association and the Society for Fibre Science and Technology of Japan.

Ongoing activities involving textile experts from both countries will include regular meetings, joint seminars, exchange of contacts and information, the strengthening of relations between French and Japanese textile firms, brainstorming sessions, joint research and development, and promotion of exchanges between French and Japanese laboratories and universities.
