Daewoo International pledges extra investment in textiles in Uzbekistan

Korean industrial group Daewoo International has announced plans to invest a further $20 million in two textile production operations in Uzbekistan.

The new investment is to support expansion at the Daewoo Textile Fergana and Daewoo Textile Bukhara enterprises in Uzbekistan. The money will go towards new spinning equipment.

Daewoo has had textile operations in the country since it founded cotton fabric and yarn producer Daewoo Textile Fergana in 1996. It set up yarn producer Daewoo Textile Bukhara in 2008.
