Lumberjack to expand into new European markets

23/07/2014
Italian boating and sports-casual footwear brand Lumberjack is reported to be preparing “an invasion of Europe”, with 150 new retail partners planned for 2015. New retail opportunities will be in multibrand stores or in a shop-in-shop set-up.

Now owned by Turkish group Ziylan, Lumberjack will expand its presence in the wider European market by opening new stores in Germany, France, Austria, Switzerland, Russia and other markets to add to the presence it already has in Turkey, Spain, Greece and Benelux.

This expansion will be part of a wider growth plan at group level that Ziylan, already Turkey’s biggest shoe manufacturing group, will fund with new investment from a private equity firm called Turkven.

Lumberjack chief executive, Andrea Vecchiato, said the company hoped to achieve 30% growth in sales of its shoes as a result of this expansion.
