REI chief financial officer adds COO role to his remit

Outdoor gear and apparel retailer REI has promoted Eric Artz, chief financial officer, to the additional role of chief operating officer.

Mr Artz will now have oversight for the company’s digital retail division and continued leadership of the finance, IT, real estate, supply chain and corporate strategy divisions.

A retail and outdoor industry veteran with more than 20 years’ experience, Mr Artz joined REI in 2012. Before that he was most recently chief financial officer at Urban Outfitters and spent many years with VF Corporation in financial and operational roles.
