Li Ning has closed more than 200 stores so far this year

As one of the consequences of losses of almost $100 million, which Chinese sports brand Li Ning recorded for the first six months of this year, the company has closed 244 stores across China.

Another measure is that the company has withdrawn its support for the Chinese gymnastics team, which it said was a difficult but necessary decision.

There is irony in this because the company’s founder, Li Ning, first achieved fame as a gymnast representing China at the 1984 Olympic Games in Los Angeles.
