Sports brand Puma has said it intends to invest in a new share issue announced by German football club Borussia Dortmund.

The Dortmund club said on August 21 that it wanted to raise new capital to finance debts of around €40 million. It is Germany’s only listed football club.

Puma announced on the same day that it intended to buy up to 5% of the club’s equity. It has long been Borussia Dortmund’s kit supplier.
