Puma stays silent over Chile dispute

Sports brand Puma has made no comment over reports that the Chilean national football association (ANFP) has filed a legal complaint against it.

Reports in Chilean newspaper El Mercurio towards the end of August said ANFP had presented a claim at court in Santiago demanding to be released from its contract with Puma a year early.

Puma supplies the team’s shirts and is contracted to do so until July 2015, making it the national team’s official supplier for the 2015 Copa America championships, for which Chile will be the host nation.

El Mercurio said ANFP was unhappy at late delivery of apparel for the 2014 World Cup in Brazil and at the inclusion in the delivery of kit made for another Puma-sponsored team, Ghana.
