Risk management on agenda at Dubai cotton conference
The complexity of the textiles value chain creates a diverse set of risks and challenges, according to Jagdish Parihar, managing director of risk and compliance at agri-business Olam International, who will join the International Cotton Advisory Committee and the International Cotton Agency as a speaker at the Dubai 2014 cotton trade event.
“Many of the value chain participants need to upgrade their risk management capabilities to respond to the changing market landscape and design proper risk mitigants to protect and enhance value,” he warned.
Mr Parihar will join José Sette (International Cotton Advisory Committee) and Joe Nicosia (Louis Dreyfus) at the two-day event, October 1 and 2, to deliver a series of presentations, with around 600 expected to attend.
