Intersport acquires German sports retail group

Sports retail group Intersport has announced the acquisition of German retail group Sportpoint.

Sportpoint is a group with 17 outlets in different towns and cities in the eastern part of Germany. Its combined store footprint at the moment is around 16,000 square-metres.

Majority shareholder, Wolfgang Rossow, moved into sporting goods retailing after the fall of the Berlin Wall in 1989.
