Crocs names new CEO

Experienced footwear industry executive Gregg Ribatt has returned to the footwar industry after a gap of just two years. Mr Ribatt took up the position of chief executive of Crocs on January 28.

He was chief executive of the Collective Brands Performance & Lifestyle Group at the time of its acquisition by Wolverine Worldwide in 2012. Initially, he transferred with brands such as Merrell, Saucony and Chaco to Wolverine, but announced at the start of 2013 that he was leaving his new employer and said he would be leaving the shoe industry.

Before Collective, Gregg Ribatt worked at Stuart Weitzmann and Bennett Footwear Group. After leaving, he took on the role of interim chief executive of shapewear brand Spanx.

Upon taking up his new job, he said: “Our vision is to build the world's leading casual footwear brand.”
