Toray says new fibres will help clients make light fabrics

30/01/2015
Japanese textile group Toray will use ISPO 2015 in Munich (February 5-8) to introduce a new fibre technology called Miramette, which it says will allow its customers to make fabrics that are “extremely light” while displaying high levels of breathability and water resistance and offering UV protection of 50+, all without compromising on look or feel.

The key component in this technology is titanium oxide, Toray said in the build-up to ISPO,  inorganic particles that can be enriched approximately three times as much as conventional fibres. Miramette uses the titanium oxide in conjunction with fine 20-denier fibres.
