Sanitized says its new antimicrobial product can withstand the sun

Antimicrobial finishing specialist for textiles and polymers Sanitized has announced a new development that it says will prevent a loss of performance in textile treatments that have lengthy exposure to the sun.

The product, Sanitized TH 12-13, can be used on textiles and on polymer coatings and offers long-lasting protection against mildew, the Swiss company said.

It said sunlight intensity “massively impairs” the functionality of many textile treatments, with possible consequences such as premature material fatigue and unsightly stains caused by mildew infestation. Sanitized TH 12-13 counteracts this, the company said, and is especially suited to tents and other outdoor textile applications.
