REI members to benefit as revenues go through $2 billion

Outdoor retail co-operative REI has announced that it is preparing to share a dividend of $168 million among its members. In 2014, 945,000 new members joined REI, taking active membership to a record 5.5 million.

It has reported record annual revenues of $2.2 billion for 2014, a 9.9% increase compared to the figure for 2013. As part of its mission is to give back to the outdoor community, REI has said it will invest almost $8 million in non-profits and new projects to create access to the outdoors.
