Li Ning, which has had poor results for a number of years, still generated a loss on this total, of more than $125 million, but it pointed out that the loss had narrowed by 82% compared to the previous year.
“In the past year, old inventory significantly reduced,” Li Ning said on announcing the 2014 results. It went on to say that it was encouraged by various policies, launched by the Chinese government to promote sport and healthy lifestyles. “As urbanisation continues in China, the public’s enthusiasm for sports continues to increase and grow in importance,” the sports brand continued, “bringing new opportunities for the long term development of China’s sportswear industry.”
The Group said it will continue to focus on its core markets: basketball, running, badminton, training and sports lifestyle.
