Man-made fibres industry needs to communicate credibly, says CIRFS

The European man-made fibres association, CIRFS, has suggested that a timid economic recovery has started but uncertainties remain.

In the build-up to its Executive Seminar, being held in Brussels on May 20, it said knowledge of all factors affecting the value chain is crucial.

“Understanding the evolution of feedstock costs and detecting trends will allow companies to work on strategies in man-made fibre and textile markets.

“Developments in Europe, but also elsewhere, will create competitors but also opportunities.
Businesses will need to integrate the dynamics of further competition, trade developments as well as environmental concerns and the need for communicating credibly on sustainability.”

Speakers include Mustafa Denizer from the Turkish textile industry association, Remko Koster, director at IHS Chemical, and Bernard Defraye, head of the technical and environmental department at CIRFS.
