Finnish firm makes buttons from paper waste

24/04/2015
Finland-based Rudholm & Haak will showcase its collections of buttons, buckles and cord locks made from the waste products of the paper industry at the upcoming Performance Days textile show.

The company has developed a way of adding natural resins and fibres to lignin – which gives wood its strength - to create the products. Lignin has in the past been burned as a by-product of paper making.

Performance Days takes place in Munich, Germany, on April 28 and 29.
