Vinatex to start sourcing polyester fibre from its home market

Vietnam’s National Textile and Garment Group (Vinatex) has signed an agreement to source polyester fibre from a new petrochemical plant that the Petrovietnam oil and gas group has been operating for one year now at Dinh Vu in Haiphong.

Vinatex said on announcing the agreement that it was satisfied the quality of the polyester fibre the plant is producing has now improved to be on a level with the fibre it is able to bring in from outside the country.

In return, the plant at Dinh Vu will commit to making at least 50% of the polyester fibre it produces available to Vinatex.
