REI appoints chief information officer

Outdoor clothing, footwear and equipment manufacturer and retail co-operative REI has appointed Julie Averill as its chief information officer. Ms Averill joined REI last year and worked initially as vice-president for information technology.

Chief operating officer, Eric Artz, said Ms Averill’s work at REI had already helped the Seattle-based organisation improve service to its customers and make life easier for its employees.

Before joining REI Julie Averill worked as the vice-president of technology at fashion retail group Nordstrom.
