24 new STeP auditors for Oeko-Tex

A total of 24 new auditors completed their training with international environmental standards body Oeko-Tex in the course of the summer at a programme in Shanghai. As a result, these new auditors can now assess textile manufacturers under the Sustainable Textile Production (STeP) by Oeko-Tex certification system.

The new STeP auditors come from China, Bangladesh, Germany, South Korea, Indonesia, Hong Kong, Denmark, Hungary, and Taiwan. In total, Oeko-Tex now as 80 auditors available in more than 60 countries to carry out assessments.

During the intensive programme, the auditors worked through the different modules of STeP certification, which aims to cover all aspects of textile production including quality management, use of chemicals, environmental protection, environmental management, social responsibility and health and safety.
