H&M plans store expansion with eyes on Asian growth

Swedish clothing retailer H&M has said it plans to open 240 new stores before the end of 2015.

Most of the company’s new stores will be in China and the US. This move will take the number of H&M stores in China to well over 300. It quoted statistics from a major consultancy group saying expenditure in Asia on footwear in clothing is likely to grow at an average rate of 9.5% per year for the next five years.
